Pastele este cea mai importanta sarbatoare crestina. El si-a pastrat pana in prezent farmecul si semnificatia, fiind un moment de liniste sufleteasca si de apropiere de familie. Farmecul deosebit este dat atat de semnificatia religioasa - intotdeauna mai exista o sansa de mantuire - cat si de traditii: oul pictat, iepurasul, masa cu mancaruri traditionale de paste - cozonac, pasca, miel, slujba de sambata seara cu luarea luminii./

Semnificatia religioasa a Craciunului este nasterea Mantuitorului Isus Hristos, fiul lui Dumnezeu trimis pe pamant sa ajute oamenii sa devina mai buni, mai credinciosi, mai ingaduitori. Aceasta sarbatoare semnifica nasterea, creatia si vesnicia Universului.

Prin nastere se perpetueaza specia umana si viata devine vesnica. In aceste zile suntem mai buni, mai veseli, mai sanatosi si mai umani. Fiecare om, copil sau batran, isi aminteste cu placere sarbatorile de Craciun si momentele speciale pe care le-a trait. Copiii il asteapta cu nerabdare pe Mos Craciun in fata caruia recunosc fara teama daca au fost cuminti sau au facut nazbatii. Ei stiu ca Mosul este iertator si le aduce daruri mai ales daca spun o poezie sau canta o colinda.

Pe langa sosirea lui Mos Craciun o alta bucurie este Bradul de Craciun, acest pom venerat, care ramane verde tot anul, ne aduce in case mirosul padurii, este simbolul puritatii si vesniciei. Intreaga familie participa cu veselie la ritualul impodobirii bradului cu globuri multicolore, beteala, dulciuri si beculete colorate.
